The film does not hide the cruelty of society. It shows the mockery Prem faces from his friends and the shame he feels walking next to his wife. However, it never body-shames Sandhya. The camera (helmed by cinematographer Manu Anand) adores her. She is framed with dignity. The film posits that the problem isn't Sandhya's body, but Prem's gaze—and by extension, society's gaze.
