What sets the Compendium Maleficarum apart from other treatises is its extensive use of imagery. The first edition featured (31 woodcuts and 2 etchings). These woodcuts depict graphic and bizarre scenes, ranging from witches feasting with demons at Sabbaths to more unusual imagery, such as a witch transmogrified into a wolf.
