The Galaxy J7 (2016) is an older device (released with Android Marshmallow). As Android evolves, maintaining TWRP becomes harder due to partition changes (like /system becoming /system_root or dynamic partitions). Earlier TWRP builds were designed for Android 8–9

On first TWRP boot:

Go to Wipe > Format Data , type yes . Then reboot recovery. This removes old encryption. twrp-3.6.0-9-on7xelte.tar

TWRP 3.6.0 was released yesterday with full Android 11 support
