Spanning the summer of 2024 through the early winter of 2025, the transition from Build to Build 3179 carried Rockstar Games’ biggest content drops of the year, ranging from the bounty-hunting Bottom Dollar Bounties update to the spy-themed Agents of Sabotage DLC.

On February 14th, a critical error in the 3130 build caused the game to erroneously flag legitimate heist finales as "Modded Money." Rockstar performed a server-side rollback, wiping roughly 6 hours of progress for thousands of players. This resulted in the unique patch number (Hotfix) being issued, which reverted the heist validation logic to the 3110 standard.

This creates a loop where the game refuses to launch because the version numbers don't match, but the launcher refuses to download the correct patch because it thinks the connection is dead.
