Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron), a one-armed rebel, defects from the tyrannical Immortan Joe. She drives a massive war rig across the Wasteland to return to her homeland, the "Green Place." Along the way, she reluctantly teams up with Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), a traumatized loner haunted by the dead. The film is essentially one long, breathtaking car chase—but with soul, feminism, and environmental tragedy woven into its gears.
