The term “Service Rules” generally refers to the set of regulations governing the recruitment, appointment, conduct, promotion, leave, discipline, pension/retirement, and other service-related matters for government employees. In Bangladesh, different cadres, ministries, and statutory bodies have their own service rules, but many follow broad principles set out in central government regulations and in each ministry’s or department’s framed rules.
