However, the update was not a total panacea. Some persistent issues, such as the infamous "audiophile" controversy regarding the alternate soundtrack for Sonic 3 (due to licensing issues with Michael Jackson’s estate), remain unresolved by the patch, as they are legal rather than technical hurdles. Additionally, while the Switch performance improved, it still arguably lags behind the other consoles in terms of texture filtering and resolution in handheld mode. Yet, the 1.1.0 update demonstrated a willingness by Sega to listen to community feedback. The update 1.10 for Sonic Origins includes new downloadable content, expanding the game's replay value and offering fans more reasons to dive back into the classic Sonic experience.
